View our Terms & Conditions below Packing Service, Inc. is a Freight Logistics Company operating as a “Freight Broker” and is licensed by the Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA) and other government agencies as required by law. Customer is the party using Packing Service, Inc’s website and or services. By electing to use Packing Service, Inc.’s website and services, Customer agrees to these TERMS AND CONDITIONS which no agent or employee of the parties may alter. We strive to make everything simple for you here at Packing Service, Inc., terms and conditions included. Rather than bogging you down with pages and pages of confusing technical jargon that is impossible to read, we’ve kept it simple and to the point with only six pages of information to make the shipping process smooth and more efficient for you. Before booking a shipment, one should thoroughly look over the terms and conditions to ensure there is a clear understanding of Packing Service, Inc.’s booking protocol. Bookmark, print or favorite this page to have it on hand during your shipping process, should any questions arise. Most importantly, read over the definition of freight brokerage which details that the customer acknowledges that Packing Service, Inc. is a Freight Broker and NOT a Freight Carrier. Acting as a broker between the Customer and Carrier, Packing Service, Inc. provides access to carrier rates and carrier services. Knowing this piece of information helps to avoid a lot of confusion about what Packing Service, Inc. does and doesn’t do. In simple terms, we never lay hands on your freight. We simply are a means of finding the best possible shipping solution for your shipment, which we accomplish through our negotiated rates, knowledgeable agents and easy to use booking process. In addition, one should read over the definition of a freight carrier which acknowledges that a freight carrier is a dually licensed and registered company that provides the actual transportation of Customer’s shipment. The Freight Carrier(s) is/are subject to all state and federal laws and regulations applicable to the transportation of this shipment. Customer understands and agrees that the Freight Carrier(s) that actually transport the shipment(s) is/are exclusively responsible for the transportation and delivery of Customer’s shipment. Packing Service, Inc. is not a freight carrier. Instead, we book freight carriers to deliver your freight, which is where the term 3PL comes into play. Please keep in mind that the acceptance of Packing Service, Inc.’s TERMS and CONDITIONS is redundantly required in the course of booking each shipment. Since the logistics industry is so technical and complex, especially to someone unfamiliar with the trade, Packing Service, Inc.’s terms and conditions are a great place to resort back to if you have any questions or confusion about what a certain term means. Still have questions about what something means or want further explanation? Give one of our seasoned agents a call at 888-722-5774 and they’ll be more than happy to walk you through any questions you may have.

19) Limitations of Liability: All shipments are covered under the Carrier’s limited liability coverage as noted below based on either Full Truck Load or (TL) or Less Than a Truck Load (LTL) services (see below Consignee agrees to inspect the shipment at the time of delivery and document any damage on the delivery bill). 20) Full Truck Load Freight: Truck load (TL) Freight Carriers are required by law to carry a minimum of $100,000.00 of cargo insurance. 21) Less than a Truck Load (LTL): All less than a truck load shipments arranged through Packing Service, Inc. are covered by the respective Freight Carrier at a limited liability of $0.60 cents per pound. Optionally, Customer may choose to secure Freight Insurance from any 3rd party freight insurance company. 22) Filing Carrier Claims for Loss or Damage: The Customer must file all freight cargo claims in writing with shipment carrier within 48 hours of delivery. Only the shipper, consignee or third-party owner of the freight may file a claim. Delayed reporting of a claim could forfeit the Customer’s right to a claim. Packing Service, Inc. will assist the Customer in the processing of their claim with the Freight Carrier, when requested by the Customer. The filing of a claim does not relieve Customer for payment of freight charges. Customer’s account must be paid in full prior to processing a claim for loss or damage. Please contact Packing Service, Inc. for more details regarding carrier insurance or carrier liability.
23) Venue, Forum Selection and Choice of Law: Customer acknowledges that Packing Service, Inc. is a Freight Broker and not the actual Freight Carrier. Additionally, it should be understood that cancellations as consequence of the Freight Carrier’s refusal to transport a shipment due to improper or unsafe preparation (packing), limited access (location or time), Customer’s failure to perform their responsibilities, or any other unreasonable limitation outside the control of the carrier do not negate the following cancellation clauses.
1. LTL Shipments: Customer may request cancellation at any time up to 30 days after the original date of dispatch, providing that the shipment has not picked-up or attempted to pick-up. If the Customer elects to cancel the service, a $100 cancellation and processing fee will be applied.
